A Bit of Bling

Some photos of the chrome/stainless steel bits added today

I am very pleased with the wheel trims
A perfect fit without taking the stud covers & centre covers off

  1. Great conversion Ken and very informative Blog, but why have you not put the gas cylinder in a gas locker with drop out hole and sealed door rather as now compleletly open so any leak would spread though the whole of the van floor. The rest of the work seems so conscientious - I don't understand??

  2. Thanks for your comment, much appreciated. The need for a gas locker is only for vans built or converted my members of the NCC, and is to slow down the risk of a fire getting to the gas bottle, not to stop any leaks from getting to the inside of the van. There are 2 drop out holes where the gas bottle is stored and another under the gas hob, so any leaking gas would disperse through them. I never leave the gas turned on; I turn it on if I am using the hob or water heater and turn it off again as soon as it's finished. Regards ken

  3. Well the consensus seems to be a sealed locker, but at the very least a floor pan created with at least a 4" upstand - a sealed in piece of wood across the bottom of the rear exit would do - you don't need much gas to create an explosive mixture and it will spill along the floor if there is nothing to stop it. It is not a legal requirement but sensible.
