A Tight Fit

Not a lot done today van-wise, leisure battery secured in place.

The battery charger, ready to be tested as soon as I get the consumer unit in and to the right you can see the fuse-box

This is what took the time today, getting the fridge out of the caravan, I thought for a while that the caravan had been built round it as the width of the fridge is 21" and the door opening is a fraction over 19", but first the fridge door has to come off and the controls at the top have to be loosened and moved back and then it just scraped through with a bit of a push.
The fridge is advertised and has been bid on in Ebay so it had to be taken out today to be ready for collecting.
We worked out that all the time we have had the caravan the fridge has only been used on 240v, switched on a few days before we left and then plugged in at the camp site when we got there, and it seems that even if you don't have it connected to gas you still have to cut the ventilation holes in the van, something I was trying to avoid.
So I have decided to get a 240v table top fridge (approx. £75 new) and build it in and this also will save quite a bit of valuable space. I will probably fit an inverter at some time which could be used to run the fridge for a short while or perhaps while driving if the weather is very hot (some hope of that).

Coming Along Nicely

The bottom half has been panelled all along the offside

The bed base legs have been changed, the originals were 1"x1", far too flimsy

Further strengthening along the side

And an end panel fitted and secured

And now it is definitely finished, I can get on with the electrics that are going under the bench and carry on with the lining out
