More Tape, More Insulation

I don't have a lot of time on a Thursday as it is Tesco day, but Tesco is very close to Homebase so I took the opportunity to get another roll of double sided tape, I also spotted rolls of adhesive tin foil tape which is used for taping the joints in the insulation so got one of those as well.

More insulation in place on the roof and side panels using the double sided tape, the square at the back not insulated is where the rood vent will go.

All done except the bottom panels on the offside as I am not sure yet where the water heater will sit so that will be done when the heater is in, also over the cab is left till the floor is done as there will be a long narrow piece left over and better to use that than cut more off the roll.

Joints taped with the tin foil tape, which takes a bit of getting used to. If you have never used it then don't take the backing all the way off or it will just curl up into a sticky mess. Use it like sticking fablon down, just peel back an inch or so of the backing then stick that down and then smooth it out as you slowly peel the backing off.
Tomorrow, weather permitting the insulation under the floor will be laid, then the plywood floor screwed down, then it's a start on sorting the interior out, the layout which has still not been decided.

Decided to order a new consumer unit as opposed to using the one off the caravan, at £16.28 including postage with a choice of mcb's you can't go wrong and it will mean I can keep the 240v in the caravan which is a bonus.

  1. The cheepo consumer unit was replaced by the one out of the caravan, it was very flimsy, made out of very thin bendy plastic and no test button. Electricity in a van is something you have to have right and it just didn't seem up to the job :-0
